College (Latin: collegium) is a term most often used today in the United States to denote a degree-awarding tertiary educational institution and in other English-speaking countries to refer to an academically oriented secondary school. More broadly, it can be the name of any group of colleagues, for example, an electoral college, a College of Arms or the College of Cardinals. Originally, it meant a group of persons living together, under a common set of rules (con- = "together" + leg- = "law" or lego = "I choose"); indeed, some colleges call their members "fellows". The precise usage of the term varies among the English-speaking countries. In the United States and Ireland, for example, the terms "college" and "university" may be regarded as loosely interchangeable, whereas in the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and other Commonwealth countries, a "college" is usually an institution between school and university level (although constituent schools within universities are sometimes known as "colleges").

Do colleges care if you have transferred from a 4-year college to a community college?
Q. I am a sophomore at 4-year college right now and don't like the school. I want to fininsh off this coming semester so I can transfer to a community college since it's cheaper. I plan on taking the next semester at a cc. And then when I become a junior, I'm going to another 4-year college to graduate. Will the colleges I will be applying next year wonder why I started out as a student at a 4-year college but then decided to transfer over to a community colleges?

A. theyll probably ask... because inquiring minds (and nosy minds) want to know but its know big deal... heck I did the same thing ... the first university was too much money for me(I was out of state) so I went back in state to attend a community college and I received my associates after that I went to a 4 year university and I received my bachelor I was only there for 10 month because I recieved majority of my credits from the first university and the community college

What college in Colorado has the best science programs and classes?
Q. After I get out of the navy or air force, depending on where I end up, I will be going straight to college to be a forensic scientist. Like Abby in the TV show NCIS who processes all of the criminal evidence in the lab. I prefer to spend some time with my family while I'm in college, so I won't listen to suggestions about colleges out-of-state. Thank you in advance for your advice!

A. I went to Western Michigan University.. I thought it had a great program.. The people there are great too.. I made some great connections for the future.. Plus those connections got me my first job with minimum hours and higher pay than most other grads.. Go to a real university, not Embry.. If you go to Embry, you'll miss out on the college experience..
